It’s important to submit your sitemap to Google! A sitemap is an XML file that pretty much is a map to the inside of your website. It helps the crawlers from the search engine find where your URLs are located. Basically, a sitemap is an index of your websites that contain links that you want the search engines to see. Submitting your site map to Google can help get you a higher ranking in the searches. Here are the steps to submitting your site map to Google.

  1. Log into your Google Search Console
  2. Select which site you would like to submit the sitemap for by adding the verified property.
  3. Select the crawl button
  4. Select the Add/Test Sitemap button all the way on the right-hand side
  5. Select ADD/TEST SITEMAP
  6. Type sitemap.xml and add your site map.
  7. Click Submit Sitemap.
  8. Celebrate!
