It’s important to submit your sitemap to Google! A sitemap is an XML file that pretty much is a map to the inside of your website. It helps the crawlers from the search engine find where your URLs are located. Basically, a sitemap is an index of your websites that contain links that you want the search engines to see. Submitting your site map to Google can help get you a higher ranking in the searches. Here are the steps to submitting your site map to Google.
- Log into your Google Search Console
- Select which site you would like to submit the sitemap for by adding the verified property.
- Select the crawl button
- Select the Add/Test Sitemap button all the way on the right-hand side
- Select ADD/TEST SITEMAP
- Type sitemap.xml and add your site map.
- Click Submit Sitemap.
- Celebrate!
