What are commercial emails?
Commercial emails are an advertisement tactic used by multiple businesses. The companies promote their product or service through a summarized and attention grabbing description. The description is then forwarded to a wide variety of recipients, who may or may not be interested in what they are offering.
All of this falls down to whether the potential customer opens the advertised e-mail. Here are a few tips, in order to gain the interest of your customers and increase open rate.
Clear and Concise Offer:
In order to please the limited attention span of a 21st century man, make the offer clear. The general rule of thumb is to keep the message limited to a few lines. The deal being brought to the table should be clear right from the start. Don’t make your recipient look for your main product.
Cunning Subject Line:
Three things at display in your customer’s inbox would be; the sender name, subject line and message preview. The first thing any likely customer would see is the subject line. As said above, keep the message short and precise. The same goes for the subject line. Name your product and the deal you are offering in less than 50 letters. Furthermore, the customer is more intrigued when the email is from a real person instead of a company name. Personalizing your commercial email has been a golden rule in every textbook!
Creative Exposure:
While showcasing your product, let your creative juices flow. Create an eye catching and colorful display for your item. Sometimes, a personal tone and trendy design is all what a company needs to sell their brand.
Compliant to the Law:
In order to avoid your email from going into Spam, follow all the rules and regulations under the CAN-SPAM Act. Customers need to be informed of a company’s opting out mechanism. No use of deceptive information in a commercial email can increase your chances on the main Inbox board. The customer rarely trusts an advertisement email present in their Spam. Being compliant to the law will only increase your chances of gaining new customers.
Clock Work:
What is the correct time to send out an email that requires engagement? The answer is when you are sure people would be on their phones. Sending out advertisement emails early in the morning and late at night is the best way to go. The recipient would surely open the e-mail when they have nothing else to do.
In the end, its all about grabbing the attention of a possible customer in a quick and easy way. Having a portion of your company dedicated to this form of advertisement is likely to increase your sales. E-mails are the new billboards of 21st century.
