How to move your WordPress company from Godaddy to another hosting company

Hello, today we are going to go over the steps on migrating your hosting company from Godaddy to a different hosting company. Godaddy is a very known hosting company and provides excellent service for millions of customers around the world but if you are wondering what the steps are to move from Godaddy’s hosting to another hosting company and still keep all of your WordPress contents — here’s a step by step.

1. First, create a temporary domain under the new hosting company account — name the subfolder whatever your heart desires
2. Install WordPress with that new hosting company with your a new username and password! Access the new website with the new subfolder
3. Install this all-in-one-migration plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/) onto the previous website that is still on Godaddy’s hosting plan.
4. Access the all-in-one-migration plugin on your current website that is still hosted with Godaddy then click on export and afterward export your entire website, and save the file on the desktop Here’s a video on importing and exporting using this plug-in https://youtu.be/BpWxCeUWBOk
5. Install the all-in-one-migration plugin on-to new WordPress website and then import the file that you just exported (Refer to the previous step with the youtube video on how to perform this task.
6. Make sure everything is loaded onto the new website after the import and is good to go! (Hopefully, all your themes and plugins are compatible.
7. Go into the new hosting company’s domain options and click on assign new domain
8. Assign your domain’s URL to the new hosting company and point the folder to the new WordPress folder where the temporary domains contents are
9. Verify the domain is yours by changing the CNAME’S under the DNS for Godaddy to point to the new hosting company instead and most hosting company will have steps for various steps for verification depending on where your domain is located. Usually the domain’s that I’ve moved in the past have bought and hosted with Godaddy.
10. Wahla after all the previous steps are done, your new website should be hosted on the new hosting company and all of the contents should be moved over too! Say goodbye to GoDaddy and hello to your new hosting company. Cheers!
